Anastasia Beverly Hills High Shine Lip Gloss “Vintage” | Review

Hello friends!

I went from reviewing nothing but liquid lipsticks to luck of the draw giving me tons of lip glosses! Lip gloss isn’t my favorite type of lip product, so I’m very ready to go back to a nice, matte lipstick. However, I hope that all of you gloss people are loving these reviews!

Color: Vintage is described on the ABH website as a “victorian rose”. This sounds like a pretty accurate description to me! The color is a neutral pink. In the tube there is pretty obvious gold glitters, but I couldn’t find any hint of it in the swatch or when I had it on my lips. They only became apparent after the majority of the gloss had worn off, and all that was left was a little pigment and all the glitter.

Finish: This finish is akin to a liquified lipstick more than a gloss in my opinion. It’s very thick and creamy looking, with some decent shine.

Packaging: The packaging of this gloss is pretty simple. It’s an acrylic tube with the product information and brand name printed on the side. The bottom has a sticker with the color name. The lid is a shiny black.

Applicator: The applicator is a pretty standard one for these thick glosses. It’s a large, flat paddle as opposed to a traditional shaped doefoot.

New at Ulta | January 13 – February 2, 2020

Hello friends!

I’m back once again with some of the standout products from Ulta recently!

Of course the brand new ABH palette drew my attention because it’s beautiful, but there were a lot of Colourpop palettes released as well! It also looks like Ulta is getting some products that have been out for a while, like the Persona Cosmetics glosses and Colourpop Just a Tint Lip Crayons.

Hello friends!

I’ve decided that instead of having a monthly wrap up of my favorite things, I’d rather share a weekly wrap up that is smaller and more focused on what I’ve really been enjoying for the week!  I tend to forget things as the month goes on, so having to think in terms of weeks will hopefully make me remember those things that I’ve been loving so much!

1. Being ‘the disabled one’ in university – One thing that I really love about Jessica’s channel is that she’s incredibly honest and upfront about her disabilities. Her stories are always so fascinating, but she makes it difficult to feel bad due to her cheery attitude. This is a bit more of a downer than usual, but it’s something I think is important to discuss and understand.

2. Finding ABH Riviera at Marshall’s – I have been in love with the Riviera color story for forever, but could never bite the bullet and pay full price. Well, I didn’t have to! Shopping at Marshall’s last weekend, I found this palette on sale for $24.99!  I was so unbelievably excited that I had to share it here as well – a definite favorite moment of the week!

4. Lauren DellaFera’s 2020 Declutter Series – Lauren has been a favorite YouTuber of mine since she started her YouTube channel, and her declutter series are always my favorite of them all!  She’s got videos going up for the entire week – the video linked below is the first of five.

What did you love this week?

New At Ulta | November 25 – December 22, 2019

Hello friends!

It’s time for yet another installment of my New at Ulta series!  I’m definitely a bit delayed in getting this one out to y’all, but I ended up taking a break over the holidays. Rest assured, the new year has reinvigorated me and I hope you’re all excited for what 2020 has to offer!

There were a lot of new palettes & lipsticks that drew my attention this time around – especially from Milani and the drugstore in general.  There were also a few base products that sound interesting!

New at Ulta | July 15 – August 4, 2019

Hello friends!

Once again, we’re here to talk about the new beauty at Ulta that’s caught my attention!  Unfortunately this is another month where there wasn’t a ton that really looked interesting to me, but we do have a lot of eyeshadow palettes and listicks!

Also super exciting – Nabla Cosmetics is now being carried at Ulta!  I added a couple of products that sounded really interesting to my list from them, especially because I’ve heard so many good things about their eyeshadows.

Where Are They Now? | Makeup I Reviewed Between April and June 2019

Hello friends!

I’m back to share a roundup of where the products I reviewed this quarter have gone!  I ended up testing quite a few different products, so I thought getting a quick glance at my thoughts would be beneficial to you all!

A category that I wanted to add starting this quarter is “wouldn’t repurchase”.  Since I’m expanding my reviews to cover more makeup products than just lip, I thought that this was a necessary section!  It’s what I would consider the “it was okay” stuff – it wasn’t so bad that I would immediately declutter it, but I wouldn’t buy it again when I run out.  So, if a product is in this category you’ll probably end up seeing it in my empties posts down the road! I don’t want to waste products by getting rid of them if they aren’t perfect, but I don’t want to mislead anyone by making you think I loved the product when I didn’t!

I do also want to say that lip products are a little different than anything else on this list.  I try to hold them to higher standards and I own so many that I just consider keeping them to be the other makeup equivalent to “wouldn’t repurchase”.  I just have such a love affair of trying new lip products constantly that I’m not sure I would ever use one up, let alone need to buy a replacement!  I do want to be clear though – if it’s staying in my collection, it’s something that I think is a good product.

New At Ulta | May 20 – June 9, 2019

Hello friends!

This edition of New At Ulta has a lot less on it than usual!  I found that there wasn’t a lot that stood out to me as something I wanted to buy. I’m not sure if this is true, but I also feel like there wasn’t a ton that got released during this time period on Ulta!  I’m assuming it’s because this is just a slow time for makeup releases and that as we get closer to September (read: holiday!) we’ll have a lot more to look at and chat about.

One big thing to note was the addition of more Kylie Cosmetics items, so I have quite a few on my list of want to purchase!  I’ve never tried her products, but I do own one of the lip kits.  I’m curious about her powder products!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss “Kristen” | Review

Hello friends!

Along with their incredibly popular liquid lipsticks, Anastasia Beverly Hills has some lip glosses they released.  I’ve had this one for a while, but never was really sure about how I felt.  Today, I’m giving y’all the low down on this formula!

Color: Kristen is described on Sephora’s website as a “cool desert sand”.  To be completely honest, I’m not really sure what that means.  I would describe it as a mauve with slightly orange undertones on me.  This color is definitely a My Lips But Better Shade.

In terms of finish, I found that this wasn’t quite as shiny as I had expected a gloss to be.  I would actually say that the finish reminds me more of a liquified lipstick than that of a traditional lip gloss.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick “Bittersweet” | Review

Hello friends!

I just finished trying out Ashton, and so I was excited to give Bittersweet a go!  If you read my previous post, you know that I had an awesome experience with Ashton and will definitely be keeping it around and wearing it.  Today, I have an in depth review of my thoughts regarding this specific color.

Color: Bittersweet is described as a “brown plum”, which I think is incredibly accurate!  It’s a dark brown with a purple undertone and I truly adore the way it looks!  It’s definitely a vampy shade that might be out a lot of people’s comfort zones, but it’s stunning.  I think that because I have light skin with a neutral undertone, the dark color with purple tones really flatters me.

Packaging: In the same vein of Ashton, the packaging is very sleek and beautiful!  The clear tube fits nicely with the chrome cap and black “A” emblem.  Obviously the one I have is a sample size that I purchased in a kit last year, but the packaging is exactly the same as the full size, just smaller.

New at Ulta | March 3 – March 30, 2019

Hello friends!

After my first New at Ulta post, I decided that I really enjoy doing a wrap up of the products I’m interested in and wanted to start making it a regular occurrence.

One thing that I wanted to share is that there were originally items on this list that have been removed, such as the Morphe 35G palette and the Kylie Cosmetics Ulta Beauty lip kit.  I did this because when I had the chance to look at them in store I was seriously disappointed in the pigmentation of the 35G palette, and I didn’t love the color of the lip kit.

If you would like me to continue to share those products and just note them somewhere, let me know!
