Monthly Favorites | October 2019

Hello friends!

This month, my focus shifted from listening to Podcasts to jamming out to some of my most loved music at work.  I could not stop playing music, so that’s where a lot of my favorites are this month!  I’ve had some really crazy things happen, so as usual my excuse is that I didn’t have a ton of time to focus to the things I really enjoy!

Music:

The Hunchback of Notre Dame Musical Soundtrack: It’s not a monthly favorites without finding some new musical that I love listening to, and this month is no exception!  I’ve fallen in love with the Hunchback soundtrack – in particular, the following songs: “Olim”, “The Bells of Notre Dame”, “Hellfire”, and the Finale!

Change Your Mind by Miike Snow: This song is definitely not my usual style, but the upbeat, jazzy sound has me grooving every time I hear it!  It’s from the 50 Shades Freed soundtrack, and there’s really not much else to say other than I love it.

i love you by Billie Eilish: I personally feel like Billie Eilish is a bit overhyped, but this song is everything I could ever want in music!  It’s a very soft voice, pretty sad, with piano.  If you like melancholy music, you will love this!

Podcasts:

Lore 124 “To Die For”: I thought that this episode of Lore all about the price of beauty was so fascinating! He discussed a lot of using poisons for makeup, corsets to shape the body, and other pretty scary things done all in the name of looking more beautiful.  I would highly recommend giving this episode a listen!

Videos:

But Make it Vintage: Creature From the Black Lagoon! || Ep. 4: In true Halloween fashion, I had to share at least one costume and this video had me in tears!  I adore this channel for the vintage style that it promotes, and as you can see from the thumbnail Rachel absolutely knocked this costume out of the park.

What did you love in October?
