Recent Beauty Empties | Spring 2019

Hello friends!

I’m back today to share the products that I used up between March and June!  While it’s not as many as I wish, I’m still happy to make any progress.  Plus, I tried some amazing products this time around!

Bubble & Charm Body Wash “Cups of Tea”: This was not a bad body wash!  I really enjoyed the fragrance of it, but it didn’t foam up much which I like in my body washes.  I got it for free, but I don’t think I would buy it.

Purlisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Cleansing Milk: Purlisse is one of my favorite skincare brands, and this cleanser was incredible!  I would use it on bare skin and skin with makeup and it removed the makeup entirely without feeling like my skin was getting dried out.  I have a hard time getting in the routine of cleansing every night (when I’m not wearing makeup), but with this I actually really enjoyed doing it.  I would absolutely purchase this when my collection gets smaller!

Context Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream: I liked this eye cream, but I’m not sure if I would purchase it (I got it in an Ipsy).  While I don’t see a big improvement in the appearance of my undereyes, it didn’t make them look worse either. The consistency wasn’t quite thick like a cream but it wasn’t super thin either, and it sunk into my undereyes quickly.

Pacifica Cherry Kisses Hydrating Lipstick Wipes: I found these on clearance at Marshall’s and thought they would be really fun to try!  First of all, they smell incredible, like cherry kool-aid.  They’re vegan, so I feel very comfortable using them on my mouth.  Unfortunately, they didn’t work the best.  If I used them to remove cream lipsticks or eyeshadow swatches, I was able to get the swatches off, but it didn’t work on matte liquid lipsticks.

Jean Pierre Cosmetics Lip Mask: This mask was horrible.  I’m not sure if it just dried out because I had it for too long, but it was completely dry; there was no product on the lip mask at all.  The actual mask felt uncomfortable and didn’t fit my lips well, plus with it being almost completely dry it just felt gross.

Sephora Pearl Eye Mask: I honestly don’t remember what I thought of these, but I’m sure they worked well!  They weren’t expensive, so I’d be okay with buying them again to see what I think.

Soo AE Green Tea Nature Collagen Essence Mask: This was a very basic mask!  It felt nice and hydrating, but nothing special.  The fit wasn’t great, but that’s common with most sheet masks on me.

Lancome Visionnaire Advanced Multi-Correcting Cream: I thought this was a fine moisturizer, but nothing too special and I wouldn’t repurchase!  It had a ton of fragrance, so sensitive skin might not have a great experience with this.

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb: I loved using this as my morning moisturizer because it was a gel, and sunk into my skin nicely.  It wasn’t super hydrating, but it felt nice. There is a lot of fragrance, so careful if you have sensitive skin!

Goldfaden MD Vital Boost Even Skintone Daily Moisturizer: Another moisturizer that I thought worked fine, but I wasn’t particularly impressed with. I don’t think it did anything for me in terms of correcting my redness, but there’s definitely a chance that my sample was just a little too small and I couldn’t get the full amount of time needed to see improvement.

Pixi Glow Tonic: I got this in an Ipsy bag and love it!  The first week that I used it I did feel a little bit of stinging, but that went away quickly and I thought my skin did look  brighter and always felt nice afterwards. I will absolutely repurchase after I work through some other toners in my collection.

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo: I wasn’t very impressed with this dry shampoo in all honesty.  It didn’t feel like it did a lot in terms of absorbing any oils and it made my scalp feel itchy; I wouldn’t purchase.

Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Creme Rinse: I used this as a weekly conditioner, and thought it was nice.  It definitely worked better using it as you should by keeping it in for 2 minutes and then rinsing, but I usually just put it in my ends and then rinsed.  It made my hair feel a little softer, but I need a lot of damage repair and frizz control that I’m not sure it provided, even when I left it in for 2 minutes.

Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Frost Hand Sanitizer: I absolutely adore the BBW hand sanitizers, and I own so many that I really need to work through them.  I used this all through fall and just kept working through it by keeping it on my desk at work.  The smell was straight pumpkin, so if you don’t like that I’d skip!

Black Sponge: Just getting rid of this because I’ve had it for way too long!  I don’t remember the brand, but I do know that I got it in an Ipsy bag.  It worked well; kind of firm but blended nicely.

Degree Girl Just Dance Deodorant: This deodorant smelled nice, but I didn’t think it lasted very long which is a big deal for me.  I wouldn’t repurchase, and I actually only bought it because it was on clearance!

The Wet Brush: I love the Wet Brush for my hair!  I have super thick, wavy, and tangly hair, and this brush gets the knots out without making me cry.  The only reason I’m getting rid of this is because it’s so old that it’s kind of gross that I’ve kept it for as long as I have.  I purchased a new one that works wonderfully!

Topcare Cotton Rounds: I don’t remember how I felt about these, but I don’t think I liked them as much as the Up & Up brand – I’m pretty sure they fell apart a little more than the other kind I tried. I wouldn’t repurchase these!

Up & Up Basic Cotton Rounds: Super basic, as the name suggests, but I’m happy to repurchase them regularly as I need them.  They tend to stay together better than the Top Care in my experience.

Atelier Cologne Mandarine Glaciale: I wasn’t super crazy about this fragrance, but I did like it a little more by the end of the sample.  Still, I wouldn’t repurchase it; it was very floral/earthy and I prefer more fresh and sweet smells.

The notes from Sephora: “Mandarin, Sicilian Lemon, Calabrian Bergamot, Ginger, Jasmine, Petitgrain From Paraguay, Heart Of Vetiver, Oakmoss, White Amber”
