Hello friends!
I always love updating my progress on goals that I set for the year as a way to hold myself accountable, rekindle any motivation that may have been lost, and help motivate you all to continue working towards your own goals!
You’ll probably notice that not all of the goals that I shared in my 2019 Goals & Resolutions are listed on this update, but that’s because I haven’t made any progress on them and don’t feel like it’s necessary to list it just to say nothing has been done yet!
Products Used Up:
A goal that I set for myself in my 2019 Makeup Goals was to use up 65 different beauty products. From December 1st, 2018, to March 31st, 2019, I’ve used up 21 products. In order to stay on track with my goal, I need to have at least 20 empties, so I’m doing great! If you’re curious to see my thoughts on most of these products, definitely check out my dedicated blog post! I didn’t share my candles on the blog post but I do count them in my empties total, so if the numbers don’t match between the two counts that’s why!
GoodReads Winners Books Read:
A goal I set for myself that I shared on my Instagram is to read 14 of the 2018 GoodReads Awards winners. I’ve wanted to read winning books since I got a GoodReads account, and I’ve finally made it something that’s reasonable to complete! I didn’t add every book from each category because either they were part of a massive series that I haven’t started yet, or they weren’t books I was interested in reading, such as a cookbook or picture book.
In the first three months, I’ve read 4, and am almost finished with book 5. To be on track, I’d need to have read 4. I’m right where I need to be to complete this goal!

19 in 2019 Books Read:
In this blog post, I shared 19 books that I wanted to be sure to finish this year in addition to the above listed GoodReads books! I chose them for a variety of reasons: either they’re rereads, have been on my TBR for a long time, or they are super popular and I need to finally get on them! To be on track, I need to have read 5 books. I haven’t read any so far, which is definitely not helping this goal. I have found quite a few of the books at Half Price Books though, so when I finally get around to them, I don’t have to see if they’re available from the library, I can just pull them off my shelf!
Read 50 books:
A lot of book goals, huh? I’m trying to make it a point to make reading a priority this year, so of course I set a bunch of goals! There’s a lot of overlap between the above two goals and this one, so I’m going to mark books that I’ve read outside of the 19 in 2019 and GoodReads goals in Bold, just to help distinguish them!
In order to be on track with reading 50 books, I need to have read 12 books. So far, I’ve read 6! I’m definitely very behind on this goal, which is not so great. I think part of the reason is that work has been consuming a lot of my time, so I haven’t been able to do a lot of what I would like.
If you’re interested in my thoughts on these books, you can either check out my post on Books I’ve Read Recently (linked below!) or stop by my GoodReads account for reviews.

Publish 50 blog posts:
I have to say, I’m really crushing this goal! I originally chose 50 posts so that I could post one day a week and have some wiggle room in case I didn’t have time one week, but I’ve been happily upping my posts to two days a week just to keep up with all my ideas! I’ve just been having so much fun sharing all my thoughts; I hope you’ve all been enjoying it! I have the list of my blog posts from this year below, so if you see any that you’ve missed you can check them out easily.

Makeup Brands I Want to Try:
Another goal of mine was trying 9 different makeup brands this year, and I have a post dedicated to them here. So far, I’ve tried Huda Beauty, which I knew would be an easy one to test out. I’ve also been getting some new Pixi products and I’ve been using their Glow Tonic (love it!), but I haven’t reviewed it yet. You’ll definitely be seeing reviews on the other brands soon!
Student Loans:
I’m not going to share my specific finances because that’s pretty personal. However, I will say that I am incredibly close to paying it off! I imagine that by the end of April, I’ll have nothing left and I’ll be able to move on to a new car.
One Hour Technology Free Every Night:
This has definitely been something I’ve been pushing to the side. In the first month and a half, I had a really awesome routine down! I would shut everything off at 9:00pm and then go to bed at 10:00. Around the middle of February, we started going to bed earlier, meaning I had less and less time to do the fun things on the computer and my phone that I wanted to do.
The middle of March proved to be the worst – I’ve been working about 10 hours of overtime a week, meaning I don’t get home until later and I want to get in some YouTube! Right now it’s more of a priority to take some time on the weekends to do things that don’t involve my phone or laptop, and I let myself do what I want on the weekdays.
Develop a More Positive Mindset:
Now this has been an interesting “little” goal. I struggle a lot with a positive mindset due to my severe anxiety, but I’m working on it. I might do a dedicated blog post talking about what I’ve learned this year in relation to my mentality, so let me know if you’d be interested in hearing it!
Make a Healthy Decision Every Day:
I’ve fluctuated a lot in keeping up with this goal unfortunately, but being honest about it and trying to fix it will help! I’m setting a lot of monthly goals to push myself in making good choices: hopefully I keep up with it better! I am trying to at least pay attention to my food more, but honestly there hasn’t been a lot of change. The better weather should definitely help me with getting outside and going on walks or runs.
That’s everything that I’ve been keeping up with lately! I’m planning on doing a little more goal reflection and understanding what I can do to accomplish my goals including setting daily tasks instead of just monthly. If you’re curious to know how I do that, let me know!
How are you doing on your yearly goals/resolutions?
